At Hope’s Senior Activity Center in Aptos, CA, we believe that retirement should be a time of enjoyment, companionship, and active living, especially for seniors with disabilities. Our center is a testament to this belief, a place where the fun is just getting started! The mornings at our center start with the arrival of our members. Many of them come by VTA, each bringing their own energy and excitement. The staff at Aptos are right there to greet each member with a smile and any assistance that\u2019s needed. This warm welcome sets the tone for the day, as members mingle and eagerly anticipate the arrival of their friends. It\u2019s a daily reunion, where each arrival is as celebrated as the next.<\/p>

As the day begins, our members are presented with a variety of activities to choose from, catering to their interests and abilities. This choice is at the heart of our philosophy, ensuring that every individual feels valued and has the opportunity to engage in activities that bring them happiness, growth, and fulfillment.<\/p>

A Festive Holiday Week to Remember<\/h4>

This year\u2019s holiday celebration at the center was a vibrant display of joy and community \u2014 a shining example of Hope\u2019s mission at the center. The environment was transformed with decorations of red, white, and green, with members donning Santa hats, ugly sweaters, and jingle bell antlers.<\/p>

The festivities featured a range of activities that brought everyone together. There was karaoke, where members sang their hearts out to holiday favorites like “Feliz Navidad” and “All I Want for Christmas is You”. They also shared gifts, crafting sessions, and a fancy hot cocoa bar, where each member could customize their drink to their liking, sipping from mugs personalized with their names.<\/p>
