At Hope Services\u2019 senior center, Shelly Hill is more than just an activity instructor\u2014she\u2019s a vibrant force of positivity, creativity, and community. After retiring from the county following a career in public health and criminal justice, Shelly sought a low-stress, high-reward environment. She found just that at Hope, where she\u2019s spent the past two years leading engaging activities, organizing community clean-ups, and, most importantly, building meaningful connections with clients. Whether it\u2019s crushing cans to fund group outings or hosting themed events (cowboy day, complete with bubbles and face paint, was a hit!), Shelly ensures every day is anything but boring.<\/p>\n
A proud Choctaw, Cherokee, Black, and Irish woman, Shelly values cultural awareness and inclusion. She\u2019s passionate about learning from others\u2019 backgrounds and making everyone feel seen and respected\u2014whether through food, shared stories, or simply listening with compassion.
