Hope Services is proud to be in community with San Andreas Regional Center (SARC) and dozens of other organizations throughout the Bay Area who share our mission to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities.\u00a0<\/p>

SARC’s 24th Annual Service Above Self Awards (held 10\/22\/2022) brought together a community of nonprofits to recognize the tremendous contributions of award recipients over the past year.\u00a0<\/p>

We are proud to share that there were\u00a0three <\/b>award recipients from the Hope Services family.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

1 – Cathy Bouchard |\u00a02022 Lanterman Act Legacy Award<\/span><\/b><\/p>

Cathy Bouchard, is the recipient of San Andreas Regional Center<\/a>‘s 2022 Lanterman Act Legacy Award, for her lifetime of service to individuals with developmental disabilities.<\/p>

Cathy started her career more than 40 years ago as a Direct Support Professional, working with individuals that had very high support needs. She then moved into a Management position where she oversaw a small sheltered workshop in Mountain View.\u00a0<\/p>

Over the following years, Cathy focused on transitioning many of the day programs from a segregated facility based model to a more integrated, community based model. She also spearheaded the transition of many programs starting in 2016, transitioning eight sheltered workshops to more innovative, integrated programs!\u00a0<\/p>

Congratulations, Cathy, and thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do in our community.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

2 – Mental Health Services |\u00a0<\/b>Clinical\/Medical Service of the Year<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Hope’s Counseling Center earned the Clinical\/Medical Service of the Year Award, selected from 150 organizations, recognized for its efforts to expand mental health services, develop innovative treatment methods and conduct internationally-presented field research.\u00a0<\/p>

Congratulations to Anna Fernandez, Director of Behavioral Health Services and the entire Counseling Center team on this achievement!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

3 – John Robinson | Advocate of the Year<\/b><\/p>

Finally, we are pleased to share that Hope\u2019s first Peer Advocate Counselor, John Robinson, was awarded Advocate of the Year, for his mental health advocacy for people with I\/DD, including fighting for the advancement of mental health funding,<\/span>\u00a0greater\u00a0<\/span>accessibility, low-income housing, and fair treatment for all. This award highlights the impact of John’s work in the community over the years, and especially over the past year.<\/span><\/p>
